Obsessions Gift Shop began in 2017. Our gift shop is comprised of various local businesses that handmake and handcraft their items. We are a mother-daughter team. In 2017, I made a leap of faith and quit my job. My daughter is on the Autism Spectrum and my goal for her is to be independent, financially stable, and a leader.  My background is in Social Work and I have worked with diverse populations throughout the years.  Some of which has been in employment and career development; early childhood intervention; counseling; and then parenting. I have a Masters in Social Work and my last employment was at the Florida State University Autism Institute. My experience with Autism and Communication Disorders are through employment, education, and persona. experience.  In June 2017, my daughter and I started a girl's group. My daughter attended a female art group one summer and loved it.  We then incorporated some of the concepts in GPAC, Girl Power Arts and Crafts, with permission.  The purpose of GPAC is to enhance socialization and entrepreneurship skills for all girls with or without Autism or Communication Disorders.  We will incorporate males in the near future.
